Your Korea winter packing guide
WHAT WINTER LOOKS LIKE
Korea’s winter brings cold, dry conditions and icy winds. Busan’s coastal climate is milder than northern and inland regions, but it is still a winter destination. Check your resort forecast separately from your city forecast.
SEOUL SIGHTSEEING
Build around a base layer, an insulating middle layer and a winter coat. Include warm leg layers when conditions call for them, plus a hat and gloves for outdoor stops. Choose layers you can adjust inside heated buildings.
BUSAN AND COASTAL OUTINGS
Keep wind protection in your day bag even when the forecast looks milder. Comfortable weather-appropriate shoes matter more than choosing your outfit from the daytime temperature alone.
SKI RESORTS AND SLEDDING
Prepare for contact with snow. Ski-appropriate trousers, weather-protective outerwear and insulated waterproof gloves are more useful than ordinary jeans and knitted gloves. Confirm your provider’s equipment and clothing requirements. Moisture-managing base layers help when you alternate between exercise and waiting.
FAMILY PACKING TIP
Set aside dry gloves, socks and a spare layer for snow days. Check sleeves and trousers while children bend, sit and move.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Do we need ski trousers if we are only playing in snow?
Snow play can involve kneeling, sitting and getting wet. Choose clothing for that activity, not only for skiing.
Can we pack less for Busan?
You may use lighter combinations, but plan around your whole route and check each stop’s forecast.
BEFORE YOU PACK
Share your travel dates, destinations, ages, measurements and usual footwear sizes. Try your layers together and check operator age restrictions, included equipment and available sizes.
Book your Singapore fitting with Popsicle.Asia, or WhatsApp your dates, destinations and family sizes. Travelling with a newborn, children or adults needing sizes up to 5XL? Send ages and measurements so we can discuss fit and availability.
General packing guidance only. Check current local forecasts, warnings and your activity provider’s requirements before travel.
