Your Europe winter packing guide
SWITZERLAND AND FRANCE
Separate city sightseeing from mountain days. Switzerland’s temperatures vary with altitude, and conditions can change quickly in the mountains. The Chamonix valley has cold, snowy winters. Check the forecast for your actual viewpoint or resort, not only the town where you sleep.
ICELAND
Give wind and waterproof protection a central place in your packing. Warm layers, gloves, headwear and appropriate waterproof footwear matter alongside the temperature.
NORWAY
Coastal and inland conditions differ substantially. Do not use one “Norway temperature” to pack for an entire itinerary.
FINNISH LAPLAND
Ask what your outdoor excursion includes. Some operators supply thermal outerwear, but you still need suitable layers underneath and should confirm sizing in advance.
WHAT TO WEAR
For city days, choose removable layers and comfortable footwear. For snow activities, add activity-appropriate trousers and weather protection. For evening tours with long periods standing still, discuss additional insulation for both your upper body and legs. Pack for wind and moisture as well as cold, and try your complete outfit together before departure.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Is my city coat enough for an Alpine excursion?
Not automatically. Share the location, altitude and activity when planning your outfit.
Should everyone wear the same number of layers?
No. Activity level, fit and personal comfort differ. Make room to adjust rather than following a fixed layer count.
BEFORE YOU PACK
Share each destination, travel month, activity and expected time outdoors. Bring ages, measurements and usual footwear sizes for each traveller. Check operator age restrictions, included equipment and available sizes.
Bring your European itinerary to a Popsicle.Asia fitting in Singapore, or WhatsApp us for packing suggestions. Travelling with a newborn, children or adults needing sizes up to 5XL? Send ages and measurements so we can discuss fit and availability.
General packing guidance only. Check current local forecasts, warnings and your activity provider’s requirements before travel.
